Coming To A Cruise Ship Near You
Princess Cruises’ “Movies Under The Stars” proved to be so popular that the company is expanding the outdoor cinema concept to the rest of its Caribbean fleet. Sitting on the top deck, watching classics like “The Wizard of Oz” on a giant screen under Caribbean stars (and singing along) — what could be more enjoyable? But while cruise lines look to innovate, not all new concepts are so happily received. Carnival Corporation once entertained a plan to build a roller coaster on the top deck of a cruise ship — an idea that was politely rejected by sensible execs. This year, Royal Caribbean International will test the market by rolling out suspension bridges and bungee trampolines on Enchantment of the Seas, when that ship emerges with a new 73-foot midsection from the shipyard this spring.
